keshi Opens a New Chapter with “WANTCHU”

The Houston singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist signals a fresh era with a home-studio cut co-shaped by Porter Robinson, boylife, Nick Velez, and Daniel Chae—now out via Island Records.

Midway through a headline tour that’s hitting iconic arenas like Madison Square Garden (NYC) and Kia Forum (LA), keshi drops his new single “WANTCHU,” available now on Island Records. The track began as a recording-technique exercise and evolved into a full song with creative input from Porter Robinson, boylife, Nick Velez, and Daniel Chae. It’s the first release from keshi’s new home studio and marks a return to hands-on production—a proof of concept for his next album.

“WANTCHU” follows last year’s second album, Requiem, praised for its widened emotional and sonic range—from bright alt-pop and dance-floor energy to reflective shades of country and indie. True to form, keshi’s writing continues to linger on life, loss, love, and everything in between, carried by vocals that prize intimacy and detail. He remains a one-man engine in the studio, playing bass, guitar, piano, and viola.

In recent years, keshi has become a streaming force, amassing billions of plays across his EP trilogy, debut album GABRIEL (2022), and Requiem (2024). That catalog has powered multiple world tours—graduating from small rooms to sold-out marquee venues—and continual upgrades in stagecraft. In June, he also appeared at Paris Fashion Week in Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello, underscoring a broader cultural reach that extends beyond music.

About keshi

Born Casey Luong and raised in Sugar Land, Texas, keshi has built a global following by turning vulnerability into melody. Since 2017, he’s blended pop, R&B, lo-fi, and hip-hop into candid reflections on love, loneliness, and grief. GABRIEL peaked at #4 on Billboard in 2022, becoming that year’s highest-charting debut album by a new artist, and spawned viral singles including “LIMBO,” “UNDERSTAND,” and “GET IT.” He contributed “War With Heaven” to Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings soundtrack and has collaborated with brands such as Saint Laurent, Fender, Microsoft, and Fendi. After two relentless years on the road, he returned to Texas to build a home studio—“WANTCHU” is the first release from that creative hub.

“WANTCHU” is out now on all major streaming platforms via Island Records.
