A Heartfelt Chronicle of Change, Loss, and Self-Discovery
From HYBS to a New Chapter — The Voice You Remember, Reimagined

Thai indie-pop artist James Alyn, best known as the vocalist of the international sensation HYBS, steps into the spotlight with his long-awaited solo debut album “2019”. This 11-track project marks a bold and introspective new chapter for Alyn, capturing his evolution as both a songwriter and an individual.
From festival stages across Asia to charting hits with HYBS, James Alyn has been a fixture in the region’s alt-pop landscape. Now, he returns — this time with his own name, his own sound, and his most personal stories to date.
An Album Born From Transition
The year 2019 was a global turning point — and for James Alyn, it marked the beginning of a personal transformation. During the pandemic, he began writing a series of English songs that would eventually become the foundation for “2019”, a record that blends dreamy indie-pop with emotional storytelling.
Opening with the title track “2019”, the album unfolds like a journal — exploring themes of heartbreak, healing, longing, and liberation. Songs like “Take My Body” and “Dim The Lights” showcase Alyn’s range both vocally and emotionally, while “Fool” and “Walk Out The Door” bring closure with quiet confidence.
Alyn describes the album as “a memory capsule… everything I couldn’t say in words back then, I finally put into songs.”
Spotlight: “2019” – A Song and Story in One Take

Leading the album is the emotional centerpiece, “2019” — a song about the strength in letting go. Its Official Music Video, premiering July 2nd, is shot entirely in a long take, capturing Alyn in a single continuous moment of movement and reflection. The video’s visual minimalism reinforces the vulnerability at the song’s core, echoing the lyric: “let it go.”
With the help of his longtime backing band, who have performed with him for over a decade, James Alyn delivers an immersive hour-long live set — one that blends nostalgia, modernity, and raw sincerity.
