‘DAYS B4 THE LIGHT’ – A Story Etched in the Shape of One Day

Melodic and smooth in his flow, with delicate lyricism layered over rugged textures.
AIRIE’s music blurs genre lines, carving out emotional space with care and clarity.

Raised in the quiet city of Shimanto, Kochi, now based in Tokyo,
AIRIE first caught national attention on ABEMA’s Rapstar 2024.
Now, he breaks his silence to speak on the new album DAYS B4 THE LIGHT and what lies within it.

Music as Memory: A Father’s Influence

— Tell us how you first got into music.

“My father played a big role. Growing up, I was surrounded by all kinds of music at home—it just became a part of me.
I made my first song in my senior year of high school. I had a chance to perform at a local festival called Kawa-Jan Rock Festival, and my dad actually made the track for it.”

His Musical Roots: The Kid LAROI

— Who would you say has influenced your sound the most?

“Definitely The Kid LAROI. He had the biggest impact on me. The way his music hit me back then—that’s still at the core of what I do.”

Writing from the Unknown: The Process

— What does your creative process look like?

“I start by listening to the beat, then I sing in what I call ‘alien language’—just melodies without words.
After that, I figure out what I really want to say and shape the lyrics from there.”

DAYS B4 THE LIGHT – A Day Told in Songs

— How would you describe the new album?

“This album captures what I’ve felt and lived through, told through the flow of a single day.
Each track mirrors a different moment—morning, noon, night.
One of my favorites is ‘never miss,’ a song about the rush of falling in love at first sight.”

Remembering Home: The Collab with Tade Dust

— How did the collaboration with Tade Dust come about?

“We met at an event, and I reached out to ask if he’d be down to join the album.
Now, we’re both living in Tokyo, but this song came from us looking back—thinking about where we’re from and how far we’ve come.”

AIRIE’s music moves between past and present, emotion and reflection, hometown and city lights.
DAYS B4 THE LIGHT is a soft but honest chronicle—a story told just before the light breaks through.
