With melodies born from a spontaneous jam session, Ruth speaks to the uncertain heart

Indonesian singer-songwriter Ruth Garcia returns with a brand new single, “Oh Cinta,” marking both her first release in 2025 and her first song ever written and performed in Bahasa Indonesia.“This song was born out of a long process of self-discovery,” Ruth says. “For me, 2025 is the year people will get to see the real Ruth Garcia—no filters.”
The story behind the song
“Oh Cinta” was co-written with fellow Indonesian artist Kaleb J, during what started as a casual jam session.
“Kaleb played a 6/8 rhythm on the guitar, and suddenly my brain just started singing,” Ruth recalls. “The melody flowed out effortlessly, like the song had been waiting for us to write it. It didn’t feel forced—everything just came together naturally.”
A voice for uncertain lovers
In “Oh Cinta,” Ruth becomes a voice for those trying to convince someone they care about to truly believe in their love—whether they’re in the early stages of flirting or already deep in a complicated situationship.
“There are so many undefined relationships today,” she explains. “You might be close, you might spend time together, but there’s still no clarity. That’s when the overthinking creeps in. And you start wondering—‘Am I the only one feeling this way?’”
With that in mind, Ruth delivers a track that’s both emotionally relatable and musically easy to digest, making it the perfect background for driving, studying, or spending time with someone you like. The track blends breezy melodies with adorable, self-aware lyrics designed to make listeners smile and softly feel those early butterflies again.
“Love isn’t just about how it feels or looks,” Ruth says.
“It’s about reassurance—again and again. There’s nothing wrong with being emotionally transparent. I hope ‘Oh Cinta’ becomes an anthem for the hopeless romantics out there.”
